Technical Regulations on energy efficiency labelling requirements for household appliances in Jordan were approved on 24 April 2014. Starting from 1 July 2014, Jordan start implementation the requirements for energy efficiency labelling of certain products.

The government of Jordan, with the cooperation of Jordanian counterpart; National Energy Research Center (NERC) and other stakeholders, and with assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has been establishing the energy labelling system and set a Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) programme for household appliances in the country. This project is also in line with the Jordan Common Country Assessment, which recommends maximizing the efficient use of energy and the use of renewable energy.

In accordance with Resolution No. 1, 2014, products will not imported unless they are compliant with this technical regulation from the effective date of 1 July 2014.
