Yemen - Energy Efficiency Labelling

Yemen - Energy Efficiency Labelling

The Yemen Standardization, Metrology & Quality Control Organization (YSMO) has designated various notified bodies to oversee Energy Efficiency Labeling for air conditioners. These appointed bodies are authorized to provide technical approval and registration services to manufacturers and importers. This initiative follows YSMO's ongoing efforts to strengthen its energy efficiency programs in line with similar developments in Oman and Bahrain, reflecting the growing focus on energy efficiency standards in the region.

Yemen's energy efficiency regulations are set to take effect on October 1, 2024, with assessment standards based on GSO 2530:2016, as applied in Oman. Products covered by these regulations must undergo energy efficiency registration and receive the corresponding energy efficiency label, which will be valid for two years.
